The British Academy of Film and Television Arts or BAFTA hosted it’s 71st award ceremony in London Sunday night, February 18th.
BAFTA is an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image – film, television and game in the United Kingdom. In addition to its annual awards ceremonies, BAFTA has an international, year-round programme of learning events and initiatives offering access to talent through workshops, masterclasses, scholarships, lectures and mentoring schemes in the United Kingdom and the United States.
This year, BAFTA’s red carpet hosted not just amazing outfits, but also a message of support and solidarity with the Time’s Up movement, which was created but Hollywood celebrities. It’s goal is to fight against sexual harassment and promote gender equality. Thus, actors, producers, directors and other important figures of the media industry paid tribute to this movement, as most of them chose black as the color of their outfits for the red carpet.
