How to care for Velvet

Velvet always inspires a royal air through its exquisite appearance, always accompanied by refinement. But, to always get that impression, it’s very important that velvet is always properly cleaned and cared for. Below you can find the most adequate methods to do that.

Cleaning and Care Methods for Velvet:

1. Dry cleaning is the most recommended cleaning method for velvet and of course it should be done without chlorine;

2. It’s highly recommended to avoid adding water or mechanical action while washing;

3. In case that the label allows manual washing, this should be done using a soft detergent, and the garment should be turned inside out, so that the surface layers won’t get rubbed between them, which could lead to possible damage;

4. Bleaching isn’t allowed;

5. For drying it’s recommended that the garment to be put on a hanger, far away from the direct sunlight;

6. To avoid pilling or the used appearance, it’s recommended that the wash and dry to be done at a low temperature;

7. Ironing should be done normal, with or without steam, at a low temperature;
